The Aero Club Castelnuovo Don Bosco was born as
amateur sporting association on November 30th 2009, founded by a group of
friends who share the passion for flying and animated by the desire to
develop and to spread on the territory the aeronautical culture on and the
love for flying, involving people of all ages.
For this reason,
it
was born a
Flight School certified by
the Italian Aero Club (AeCI) N°
386. The flight
activities are
supported by
some ultra-light aircraft that have
excellent flying
qualities and a very
high safety level.
The Aero Club Castelnuovo, in
fact, adopted for teaching
and rent activities a new Savannah ™ S with 100 HP Rotax engine. Nowadays,
the school has successfully
taught
8
students
to fly
and
it has trained
up other 4 pilots to achieve the
passenger transport
licence.
Since February
27, 2010,
our association
decided to join the
Aero Club of Italy,
making us
a Federated
Aero Club.
The Aero Club Castelnuovo Don Bosco, despite his young
age, has already participated in important projects concerning promotion
and spreading of the aeronautical culture both at national and at
international level. We
made, in cooperation with the Aero Clubs of Thiene and Sondrio, the
project
"The Three Alps entry gate",
showed at AERO
2010
in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The
project aimed to spread among the visitors of the Fair, the Italian
avio-touristic
situation with films, leaflets and local products.
The results were very
satisfactory, in fact nowadays we have received several visits from "turists
by the sky", even thanks
to the publication of the airfield data on Jeppesen charts.
Last
September, the Aero Club Castelnuovo Don Bosco hosted
the 6th International
ICP Meeting during
which,
with the
invaluable cooperation
of members and friends of
the club, we welcomed and handled
more than100 aircraft from
all over Italy, as
well as some aircraft from France, Germany and Switzerland.
Moreover, at
the end of September
2010, we
took part in the “Festival dell’Aria” at
the
Lido of Venice
fot
the project Avioturismo
promoted by Avioportolano Italia. During
the event, we
promoted and advertised
our activity.
And for 2011 we expect many other wonderful
initiatives and new challenges! We
