Castelnuovo Don Bosco aifield was born from the needs of the Company I.C.P. to have a runway next to the new factory where testing its aircraft and where receiving the customers for the aircraft maintenance.

Afterwards, I.C.P. decided to use this facility as registered airfield to contribute to the developing and promotion of aviation and intensify the italian avio-tourism as the foreign one, thanks to the strategic position of "Entry Gate of the Alps", by suggesting itself as avio-touristic landing place of the North-West Italy. Moreover the airfield is at Civilian Protection's disposal, such as base of support for their activities of service and training.
